5 Ways to Wear Pastel for Girls Who Never Wear Pastel

We love our red lipstick and jet-black liner just as much as the next beauty enthusiast, but sometimes, you just have to change it up! Especially with warmer weather in the air, pastels are the perfect shades to play around with this season. C’mon, don’t be shy — we promise you’ll love rocking pastels, whether it’s on your lids or lips!

1. Dainty Digits

Pastel polish is always on trend! To make these soft shades really POP, start with a white base before applying your favorite pastel color. For a pretty-in-pink look, try YSL La Laque Couture in Rose Romantique or essie in Hubby for Dessert.

Need inspo? We love the pastel pinstripe nails and galaxy mani!

2. Pastel Peepers

Whoever says shadow should always be neutral or smoky hasn’t tried pastel — yet! From lavender to robin's egg blue (like L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Infinite Sky), these cotton candy colors are loads of fun! A light dusting of color all over your lid will do the trick. To really make these soft hues stand out, go for a matte finish and load up your lashes with black mascara like, Maybelline Great Lash Real Impact in Very Black.

3. Graphic Eyeliner

A pop of pastel goes a long way! Put the black eyeliner down (not indefinitely, of course!) and try going graphic with pastel. A liquid liner with vibrant pigment like the Lancôme Artliner 24H in Turquoise will give you the daring cat eye you’ve always wanted! But don’t stop there, any pastel color will really make your eyes shine!

4. Cheek Stain

A wash of sheer pastel blush will give your face a fresh and natural glow! Use a liquid stain or cheek cream like YSL Kiss and Blush in Rose Epicurien or NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Natural on the apples of your cheeks for a light, dewy effect. Just remember, a pinkish tone works wonders on lighter complexions, while a coral color is the perfect complement on darker skin tones.

5. Bright Lippies

If you’re in the mood to really embrace pastel, a light and bright lippie is the way to go! You can go as simple as a softly tinted lipstick like the Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Collection. or go bold with the NYX Macaron Lippies — think Pistachio and Lavender!
