Which Makeup Artist Did the Most August Covers?

The August fashion magazines are like a really great appetizer—they prime your palette for the big, juicy September issues by offering a taste of the new fall fashion and makeup. (Speaking of, did I call it or what when I said that winged eyeliner is back for autumn? The look appeared on three major covers: Vanity Fair, Allure, and Interview). So while we all anxiously await the main course, let's take a moment to celebrate the big makeup players for August: Gucci Westman and Mylah Morales, who each did two covers this month. Gucci worked with Harper's Bazaar and did the last W cover before its redesign (which launches with the September issue), while Mylah Morales scored the Elle and Seventeen covers. Aaron de Mey, Lancôme's artistic director of makeup, gave Isabeli Fontana her fuchsia lips for the cover of V—which was about the only thing she wore in the supersexy photo. But for as sultry as that cover is, the sexiest of the month (and by far my favorite) is Angelina Jolie on Vanity Fair (shown above), with makeup by Toni G., hair by David Babaii, and photos by Patrick Demarchelier. I love that instead of pushing her usual tough-girl look, the magazine shows Angelina as the ultimate sex kitten with charcoal-rimmed eyes, baby pink lips, and Bardot-like hair that's half up, half cascading across her decoletté. It just doesn't get any hotter than this. Click through to see which other artists rocked the August covers. Which is your favorite magazine cover this month?
