Who Had the Best Makeup at the Golden Globes? (Plus Deets on Their Looks)

There weren't a lot of surprise winners at last night's Golden Globes, but the fashion was delightfully unexpected, as pops of vibrant, cheerful color sprung up all over the red carpet. (Even the normally black-clad Angelina Jolie donned a bright emerald Versace gown.) With all that flashy color happening below the neck, many stars went with soft, understated makeup—a wise choice, but it made sorting through the beauty pics this morning a bit anti-climactic. Still, there were a number of standouts, but before we get to those, let's talk about the missteps—namely the girls who paired a pale dress with equally pale makeup. Leighton Meester and Scarlet Johansson were among the washed-out, and even though I loved Emma Stone's dress, the fair hair-makeup combo stripped her of any distinguishable qualities and made her almost unrecognizable. Now, let's get to the good stuff—here are my picks for best makeup, including details on what some of the stars wore. Who do you think had the best makeup at the Globes?
