#1 Super-dark Lips
Who rocked it: Rihanna. Just when you think the girl can't get any sexier, she hits the stage in a skimpy black outfit, wild Tina Turner-inspired hair and (our favorite part) lips the color of Bordeaux wine. Rihanna, we get it—you like to grab attention. And once again, mission accomplished.
How to steal it: For wearable yet intense lip color, outline and fill in your lips with a brown or deep plum lip liner then add a burgundy lipstick on top. One thing that's a must to pull off Riri's daring shade: confidence! So give yourself a quick I'm-so-irresistible pep talk before you leave the house and remember, if people stare, it's because you look hot! Try Make Up For Ever Aqua Waterproof Lipliner Pencil in Chocolate Brown or Matte Dark Plum.
#2 One Big Braid
Who rocked it: Taylor Swift. She arrived at the show all glammed up, but opted for a more casual look when it came time to perform. Maybe her wispy, side braid is her way of reminding us that even though she's sold a gazillion albums, she's still a down-to-earth southern sweetie.
How to steal it: Don't worry about perfection--just gather your hair over to one side, braid it and secure the end with an elastic. Let little pieces stick out or nudge them out with the pointy end of a rattail comb. Finish with a soft hold hairspray like Redken Fashion Work 12 Versatile Working Spray.
#3 High-drama EyesWho rocked it: Adele. The Brit beauty hit a high note with her stunning, retro look and we couldn't take our eyes off of her...eyes! It's funny how a few simple steps can have such a major impact.
#4 A Pastel Pout
Who rocked it: Katy Perry. Fun, cheerful bubblegum pink lipstick is her go-to shade, but for the rest of us, it can be a little daunting. What makes it work is that she skipped eye shadow and only has a teensy bit of pink blush on her cheeks.
How to steal it: Stick with a creamy texture like the one Katy wore: YSL Rouge Pur Couture #26—it looks more modern. Or dab lip balm over a matte baby pink shade for a hint of shine. If your skin is fair, you can get away with a pale shade, but if your complexion is medium to dark go with a deeper lip color so it won't look too frosty. And, oh yeah, blue hair is optional.
