4 Hairstyles That Will Survive Your Spin Class

It takes real skill to look presentable after a good workout. Somehow, no matter the preparation and endless amounts of bobby pins, we still leave that boot camp sesh looking like we ran through a hurricane. And, while the flushed, glowing skin isn’t so much the problem, our undone strands certainly are. So the question becomes, how do we keep our manes in check during the most vigorous of workout sessions (yes, hellish spin class, we’re looking at you). We came up with a few options to keep your hair in place during all the huffing, puffing and calorie burning.

1. Top Knot

While the messy bun is our typical go-to for any and all occasions, we have to say, for the gym, it’s just too messy! When working out, it’s best to have your hair up and out of the way so you can focus on your fitness (and the cute instructor). Wrap that hair on top of your head, secure it with a few bobby pins or spin pins and you won’t have a care in the world!

2. Sleek, Low Pony

This sleek and simple style strikes the perfect balance of chic and sensible. All you need is an elastic band to secure your pony at the base of your neck and maybe a dab of gel to keep those flyaways at bay. If you want to get fancy for the gym, step up your pony game by wrapping it at the base!

3. French Braid

We know that upgraded braids like the fishtail and four-strand are all the rage right now, but for workout time, basic is best. Try a French braid down the back of your head and secure it with an elastic band. While you can keep the braid loose, we recommend a tighter plait for the gym. You don’t want any rogue strands ruining your cardio sesh!

4. Braided Bun

Admit it, we all get the urge to look cute for the gym. For the days we want to take it up a notch, this braided bun is pure perfection. You’ll be rocking the pretty ballerina look while getting the most out of your workout. Feel free to pirouette to your heart’s content! We promise your hair won’t budge an inch!
