Confirmed: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer Is Amazing

I’m the epitome of a product loyalist. I have my favorites in every category: foundation, concealer, sparkly eyeshadow, foiled eyeshadow, lipstick; you name it. Once I discover my go-to, holy-grail, can’t-live-without products, I buy them in bulk, add them to my beauty stash and make every single person I know listen to why I love my newest obsession oh-so much. That being said, it’s pretty damn hard to make my list of must-haves or convert me over to a new one, but the new Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer has done both. While the Luminous Silk Foundation is a long-standing front-runner in my line-up, the primer is my most recent addition and it certainly isn’t going anywhere any time soon. So in true form, find my glowing review of the Armani Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer, ahead.

My Initial Thoughts

First things first, this bottle looks super sleek, chic and luxe on my vanity. The packaging actually has a sparkly, radiant finish that is truly indicative of the formula’s sheen. But looks aside, what’s inside the bottle doesn’t disappoint either. Upon squeezing out the primer, I noticed an orange-y tint that I wasn’t expecting. But, as soon as the product meets skin and sheers out a bit, the tint fades and leaves behind a dewy glaze with suspended flecks of shimmer.

The Application

I put a pea-size amount on my finger and used a small brush to spread the product evenly across my face. It literally glided across the surface of my skin and created a natural-feeling barrier between any imperfections or blemishes and my foundation. I couldn’t help but touch my face once the primer settled. My skin felt supple, soft and bouncier than any primer had made it feel in the past. And it’s understandable why. The formula is infused with shea butter and glycerin, both of which have moisturizing properties.

My Final Thoughts

While I was thrilled with the initial application, the next tell-tale criteria on my checklist was how the primer would wear. After applying my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, I’m happy to confirm that the primer is pill-free. It gave a nice shimmer to my complexion and amped up the silky radiance of the foundation. I noticed a blurred effect on my nose, which was much appreciated given my large pores there. By the time mid-afternoon rolled around, my makeup still looked nearly as fresh as when I had applied it. My final take? This primer is the real deal. It’s hydrating formula and non-pilly sheen is the perfect base under makeup. I highly, highly recommend giving this product a go; you won’t regret it.
