We don’t know about you, but the ’90s hold a very special place in our hearts. What’s not to love? The babydoll dresses, mood rings and, of course, the Spice Girls. Lately our nostalgia for the girl group days of yore has been so intense that we decided to pay homage in typical MDC fashion: a hair tutorial. That’s right, we’re bringing back the baby buns. Once the signature look for Baby Spice wannabes, this über-cute “do” has recently been popping up on the music festival scene — and we want in on the action. We enlisted the help of makeup and hair pro Emma Willis for Contour Fossa to recreate this ’90s gem of a hairstyle. So what are you waiting for? Spice up your life!
1. Part hair down the middle into two sections.
2. Make two high pigtails.
3. Twist one of the ponies and tie into a knot (no really, you are literally making a knot).
4. Tuck the ends around the knot and secure with bobby pins. Repeat on the other side.
5. Keep hairs (and buns) in place by spritzing with hairspray, like Garnier Fructis Style Full Control Anti-Humidity Aerosol Hairspray.
