Oh, how we long for the days when our biggest concern was algebra homework and whether or not that cute guy in bio had a crush on us. Odile Gilbert, head hair stylist for Kerastase at the Jill Stuart fashion show, allowed us to return to our teen years via a fun, funky hairstyle. “Teenagers have a look that’s very nonchalant,” she said. We love this style thanks to its easy, natural texture and hints of quirk: a barely-noticeable plait and a twisted, swoopy faux-bang.
To create the look at home, use a combo of mousse and Kerastase Lotion Densitive (a Gilbert-fave), to pump up the hair and bring out its natural texture before diffusing with a blowdryer. Follow with a deep side part, sweeping hair across the forehead while twisting. Haphazardly secure the twist near the ear with a bobby pin. To add a bit of youthful playfulness, Gilbert hid a small braid at the nape of the neck, underneath the hair. “It’s an overall natural, sexy look,” she says. And we, like, TOTALLY couldn’t agree more.
What look from high school would you rock again today?
