She may only be 15, but Bella Thorne’s beauty IQ is already well beyond her years. Event after event, the Disney darling always seems to get it right—amazingly beautiful, yet age-appropriate. At VH1’s Do Something Awards, she wowed with a shimmer-free soft nude palette and cool pink lip that made the most of her flawless skin and strawberry blonde hair. Celebrity makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic tells us how to get the wide-eyed, it-girl look.
Step 1: Using a sponge, apply a medium- to full-coverage foundation with more of a matte finish all over your face, making sure to blend well into your neck. Try:L’Oréal True Match Super-Blendable Compact Makeup. Set with a translucent matte powder. Try:Maybelline Dream Matte Powder.
Step 2: Smile and sweep a peachy blush onto the apples of your cheeks. Make sure the blush doesn’t have any shimmer or glitter, and leaves a sheer wash of color. Try: Bobbi Brown Blush in Nude Peach.
Step 3: Apply a light cream-colored shadow, such as L’Oréal Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Endless Pearl, across your eyelids and along the inner corners of your eyes to open and separate them.
Step 4: Lightly fill in your brows using a soft, natural brown shadow, such as Lancôme Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Smooth Hold in Chic. Brush brows up and out to blend in color. Using a thin brush, sweep the same color along your eye creases.
Step 5: Curl lashes. Apply one coat of black mascara. Try:YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils in Noir Radical. Then add individual lashes to the outer corners of your upper lash lines only. Curl again and apply one more coat of mascara to your top and bottom lashes.
Step 6: When wearing a matte lipstick in a light shade, start out by exfoliating lips to get them as smooth and flake-free as possible since the flat texture accentuates every little lip imperfection. Try a homemade blend of honey and sugar or Philosophy Kiss Me Exfoliating Lip Scrub. Apply a pale nude-pink matte lip color, such as Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Roman Holiday, straight from the tube. Perfect the lip shape using a lip brush.
