It is a truth universally known that the drugstore is one of the best places to experiment with new beauty techniques and products, but every once in awhile (okay, maybe all the while), you find products that change your life. With that in mind, the makeup.com editors have rounded up the drugstore products that have made all the difference.
A good mascara is the backbone of any good eye makeup look — but a great mascara will truly transform the way your eye makeup appears. Lash Paradise? Definitely a great mascara. I love the way this lengthens and thickens my lashes like no other drugstore wand can, and it really makes my eyes appear bigger and brighter. Legit obsessed.
One of my favorite things to do with eye makeup is to add a pop of electric liner on my lower lash line, and these Vivid Brights pencils are ones I reach for nearly every day. My go-to faves? Vivid Sapphire and Vivid Fire to spark up any natural eye look.
This product is one of my holy grail products; here’s why: It gives you just a hint of light all over your face without a glittery finish. Its creamy texture is also pretty hydrating, which means it doesn’t cling to dry skin like a powder highlight and blends out like a dream.
Sometimes you need a foundation that’s going to hold you down through 12-hour days, running to catch your train and late-night happy hour with your coworkers. This is definitely that kind of foundation. Touted for its longwear abilities and comfortable, blendable formula, this is one of those foundations I reach for anytime I need a flawless, full-coverage look that won’t budge throughout the day.
It’s safe to say I’m addicted to this liquid lipstick. Maybelline offers a wide range of unique shades and I’m always tempted to covet them all. The best thing about this lipstick — hands down — is that it can withstand all of the elements (AKA greasy pizza, burritos and life).
I’m always on the hunt for quality concealer because I’ve found that I seriously can never have enough. I love this one in particular because of its unique applicator that makes blending out the product and covering dark circles seamless.
