Mulberry may be the most buzzworthy hue from the fall 2012 runways. But there was another jewel tone that also caught our attention. Emerald lent opulence to boots, bags, trousers, gowns and more. We, of course, like it best in makeup, where it can add a touch that is as sultry as it is sophisticated. Here are our favorite stunning emerald beauty picks that are sure to make others green with envy. Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in Iridescent Emerald Green ($23): If you'd rather not emblazon your eyes will allover emerald shadow, a milder choice that's still striking is this shimmery liquid liner. The waterproof formula is so strong that it can endure a day at work or a night on the town, while the foam-tip applicator is so easy to wield that it nearly makes liquid liner seem like child's play. Essie Nail Polish in Stylenomics ($8): Another deep, brooding green hue is found in this polish, which reads almost black under certain lighting. The quality formula only requires one coat to reach full opacity (but apply two for good measure), and has a creme finish that makes it look lush. Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow in Edgy Emerald ($6.99): For a green cream shadow with all-day-long coverage, there's nothing better than this option. It has teal tones in it that keep it nuanced and reaches a solid finish in a single swipe without the need for layering. You can even use it with an angled brush as an eyeliner, or try it as a base to beef up the color payoff of similar powder hues. Giorgio Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in Emerald ($28): Many eye pencils can be scratchy and tug at the eyelid, but this one glides on without skipping and has a velvety texture. It even has a sponge tip on the opposite end so you can smudge the color out before it sets for a less severe look. The shade is so dark that it reveals just a peek of green, which gives eyes a moody look with a flick of allure. YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking in Jade Black ($30): This mascara delivers seriously voluptuous lashes. Its helix-shaped brush coupled with the über-creamy formula transforms stubby hairs into dense and chunky fringe that gives eyes a mod look. As for that green hue, it's subtle enough so it's only noticeable when lashes catch the sunlight and it looks especially flattering on brown eyes. MAC Eye Shadow in Humid ($15): This intense deep green eye shadow is as rich as can be, with a texture that's buttery smooth and a shimmery finish that makes eyes pop. Swirl it onto the lid and into the crease for an updated, sizzling smoky eye. Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow Quad in Stunning Soiree ($43): Packaged with a dark olive, forest green, buff and bone shade, this quad offers everything you need for a complete eye look. The variety of finishes (from frosty to shimmery to matte) keeps this compact well edited, while the superb textures blend beautifully together so you'll actually want to use all colors at once.
