It’s a (nearly) universal truth that white eyeliner has the magical ability to make you look more awake. By lining your waterline with white liner, you not only appear well-rested, your eyes seem bigger, too. While white liner is great (and will never leave our makeup bags), it can appear a little harsh on the days when you want to go for a more subtle, no-makeup makeup look. Enter taupey, beige liners. These off-white liners give you the same look with a softer finish and can be worn with a full face to tie the look together. We’ve rounded up some our faves, ahead:
IT Cosmetics Anti-Aging Pencil in Hightlight
IT Cosmetics has this thing where every product they make is good. You can’t really go wrong with anything in their collection — eye pencils included. This particular formula is waterproof (which is great for your waterline), creamy and lasts all day.
NYX Faux Whites in Linen
NYX understands the dilemma of a too-white liner, and thus the Faux Whites were born. Ranging from the almost-white Linen to the lilac-tinged White Smoke, there’s a pretty pastel to match every makeup look.
Essence Extreme Lasting Eye Pencil in Silky Nude
At $2.99, this pencil is worth the money and then some. The color is an ideal taupe color that complements virtually everyone.
Tarte Fake Awake Eye Highlight
This double-ended eyeliner goes on smoothly and the millennial-pink packaging is too good not to love. We like this one because it’s subtle, creamy and pretties up our makeup bags.
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Soft Nude
This liner goes on smoothly, stays put all day and can be found at your local drugstore — we’re obsessed.
Pacifica Prime and Line
This multi-purpose product is great for the utilitarian beauty lover who wants her products to do more than one thing. It’s great for brightening up the eye or prepping your lips before applying your favorite lippie.
