Best of Spring: L'Oréal's New Longwear Lipstick Stayed On Through A Blizzard
As I writer, I like—no, love—to wax poetic about the simplest of makeup products. But occasionally, I find one that doesn't require the usual rhetoric, because it's just so darn good at what it's meant to do. So, in my continuing series covering my favorite picks from our spring collections, I bring you a longwear lipstick that's comfortable to wear and stays on, without smudging, until you choose to take it off. It's that simple.
The product I'm referring to is L'Oréal Paris's new Infallible Le Rouge Lipcolour. So not the Infallible Lipcolour that's a 2-step liquid formula, and not the other Infallible Lipcolour that's a 2-step lipstick, but the newInfallible Le Rouge Lipcolour that's just a straight-up regular lipstick. This one has a whole lot of fancy technology, like polymers that bend as your mouth moves to prevent the color from fading and cracking, and lots of moisturizers to make it feel creamy. Oh, and it has Gwen Stefani hawking it in a cool new commercial. But all of that is neither here nor there. What matters is, last night I wore the lipstick to a long dinner, at which I drank wine, ate streak frites, kissed hello and goodbye to numerous people on the cheek (because when testing a French beauty company's lipstick, do as the French do, I say!), and, after dinner, walked home 10 blocks in a full-on blizzard. By the time I made it into my apartment, my hair was soaked and my nail polish was chipped from struggling in vain to open my dinky umbrella, but swear to G, my lipcolor was still on AND, amazingly, the color was still vibrant! I probably should have taken a picture as proof, but instead I just took these photos of the snow on the trees outside my window (pretty, right?).
So there you have it: L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge stays on through a blizzard. Word.
