I have a confession: purple lipstick is my weakness. Ever since I got my hands on my very first tube, I wasn’t able to stop wearing the purply-red hue. It was soon after that I discovered why I liked the shade so much: It wasn’t too dark, yet it wasn’t quite reddish… it was the absolute perfect plum. Ever since, I’ve always worn pops of plum in my makeup, and here are some of my favorite picks of the hue ahead.

Milk Makeup Oil Lip Stain in Feelz

A great plum pout starts with a great lip stain — that’s whyFeelz is my total go-to. The balmy oil slides nicely onto your lips, and the pigment totally lasts forever.

Essie Bahama Mama

Bahama Mama creates a classic creamy plum manicure that I love just about any time of the year. It goes well with moody fall-to-winter makeup but also complements a fresh faced summer look just as nicely.

Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeshadow in Last Call

Plum eyeshadow can create a super cool monochromatic look, especially if it’s done in a halo-eye type of style. Urban Decay Last Call is a great shadow for this — it gives you the ability to build up that plum eye without making it look like you have a shiner (never a good look).

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Plum Perfect

Probably my favorite of the bunch, Maybelline Plum Perfect is reminiscent of that OG plum lipstick I always loved — so of course I had to include it in this round up. It’s super creamy, highly pigmented and swipes on in one go.

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Paints Lip Metallic in Smoldering Eclipse

For another cool plum lip, try the ever-so metallic Smoldering Eclipse. It creates the coolest hi-shine look without the maintenance.

NYX Professional Makeup Slim Lip Pencil in Prune

Finally, NYX Prune is by far the best plum liner you’ll find on the market. Line your lips and fill them in to create a great red-purple base, or even use this as an eyeliner for a little lower lash line pop.
