Among my many beloved eyeshadow palettes sitting in a basket on my makeup vanity is my poor, beat-up Urban Decay Naked3 palette. My mom gifted me the palette when I was in high school and a lot less aware about how to use eyeshadow — let alone how to apply the right smoky eye for my eye shape or to make the green in my hazel eyes stand out. Flash forward to present day, and this palette is still a staple in my makeup collection — even though the shades “Limit” and “Liar” are practically depleted.
Unsurprisingly, Urban Decay Naked palettes are beloved by many beauty gurus and are practically considered a right of passage into the world of eyeshadow palettes in general. As pricey as they may be to the aspiring makeup enthusiast, they have the potential to last through it all — my exhausted Naked 3 palette serving as a prime example. If you’re new to the Naked palette game, see below for insight:
Urban Decay Naked: The OG Naked palette includes 12 bronze-hued shadows in an array of textures like matte, satin, shimmer and sparkle.
Urban Decay Naked2: Taupe-hued neutrals including a shimmery gold called Half Baked to a grayish brown shade called Pistol.
Urban Decay Naked3: Full of rose-hued neutrals ranging from a light shimmery pink shade to a deep black matte.
“The Naked3 is definitely still my favorite Naked palette. The rosy shades can easily be worn year round and compliment a range of skin tones. You can go soft and subtle or bold and romantic with this palette.”
“I will always love the original Naked Palette. It’s shimmery, and I love that you can create a day to night look. It was also one of my first Urban Decay palettes ever so it holds a special place in my heart!”
“I’m a Naked Palette hoarder. I have them all. But if I had to choose just one I would just stick to the original Naked Palette — such reliable, wearable, pigmented and blendable shades. Every girl should have one in their lives.”
