Color is a mainstay on the faces of Met Gala attendees every year — but with 2019’s “Camp” theme, it seemed as if the entire fashion universe exploded in Fantasia-esque form. From poppy blush draping and floral appliques to Disney blue and electric purple eyeshadow, the makeup looks of celebrities like Zendaya and Lily Collins transported us to a world of colorful, animated film. Take a look at four of our favorites, ahead.

Josephine Skriver’s Blush Floral Field

Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist Grace Lee was inspired by Skriver’s floral headpiece when creating the model’s draped pink cheeks and burgundy lips. “With the theme, we knew we could push the boundaries without distracting from the dress,” she says. Lee started with a base of the Maybelline 24H SuperStay Full Coverage Foundation and added a “reverse contour” with the Maybelline Fit Me! Blush in Berry over top. To tie the look together, she swiped the (new!!) Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon in Settle (coming June 2019) over Skriver’s lips and finished it with a touch of Made For All in Ruby For Me.

Zendaya’s Cinderella Transformation

We absolutely loved Lancôme Celebrity Makeup Artist Sheika Daley’s mod take on Cinderella for Zendaya’s 2019 Met look. “Aiming for a fresh whimsical makeup look, I added modern soft, subtle eyes and Le Monochromatique in Petit Bisou mimicked Cinderella’s signature rosy cheeks,” says Daley. The Disney blue was created by the Lancôme Color Design 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in 400 Teal Fury, and the lips were glazed in Lancôme L’Absolu Mademoiselle Shine in 322 Shine Bright. Seriously, this is the fairytale we’ve been dreaming of.

Lili Reinhart’s Marie Antoinette Look

Another nod to the blush draping trend, Adam Breuchaud transformed Reinhart into the ultimate modern-day Marie Antoinette. “We decided to add a bright fuchsia pink cheek, eye and contour to the look,” he says. Using the Maybelline Fit Me! Blush in Rose, Breuchaud accentuated the temples, forehead and cheekbones, creating an almost cartoon-like finish. For the lips, he used a mixture of the Maybelline SuperStay Ink Crayon in Lead The Way and the Made For All Lipstick in Pink for Me.

Lily Collins’s Priscilla Presley Presence

Collins captured a nostalgic Priscilla Presely on the carpet thanks to Lancôme Celebrity Makeup Artist Fiona Stiles. “A flat, matte pastel lilac on the eyes with a wickedly dramatic liquid liner was a great backdrop for layer after layer of false lashes,” says Stiles. To achieve the look, she used Lancôme Color Design 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Lavender Grace with the Lancôme Grandiôse Liner overtop. This electric purple and larger-than-life eye makeup captured Fantasia and Camp at its finest: colorful and animated to no avail.
