We all have our strengths. Some of us are gifted with a hand that can confidently wield an eye shadow brush and create a brilliant and complex work of art on our eyelids. Some of us can barely apply blush, let alone eye shadow (but we can change a tire like nothing you’ve seen!). While we understand that everyone is gifted in different areas, we feel that the gift of eye shadow application should be bestowed on everyone. We consulted with makeup extraordinaire Rachel Halsey to help us come up with the easiest eye shadow look EVER, so that every girl can feel like a pro.

The Easiest Eye Shadow Tutorial Ever

Step 1: Halsey recommends swiping a cream shadow onto your eyelids, as they’re easy to apply and blend for the makeup-challenged. “There are so many gorgeous color options available these days,” says Halsey. “From nudes and metallics to pastels and vivid tones, there's definitely something for every mood and occasion. You only need a few moments to apply. Use your finger to pat the color on and build its intensity as needed.”

Step 2: Use a fluffy shadow brush to dust on a shadow that’s a slightly darker version of your base on the crease and outer corners of the eyelid. Make sure to buff it out so the color transition is natural.

Step 3: Use an angled shadow brush to apply a powder highlighter to the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes. If you prefer a cream-based highlighter, use your finger to apply and blend. Halsey says to always finish your look with a mascara that will lengthen and define your lashes. “Apply a couple coats to the upper lashes and one to the lower,” she advises.
