This Watermelon Moisturizer Will Change How Your Foundation Wears

What happens when you layer a hydrating, gel-like moisturizer (oozing with the benefits of a ripe watermelon) underneath and overtop your everyday foundation? We were determined to find out — so we called upon Sarah Lee and Christine Chang — Co-CEO’s and Co-Founders of Glow Recipe, a cool K-Beauty brand with a cult following who know a thing or two about hydration and skin care innovation. Cue: their new Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer, a cooling gel-emulsion moisturizer packed with antioxidants and hyaluronic acid. Not only is this stuff great for skin, it works even better under or over foundation.

“Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer provides the perfect base for makeup as it absorbs quickly and is oil free — leaving no residue or grease behind,” says Lee. “It hydrates skin and creates an ultra smooth canvas, so makeup looks flawless without ever pilling. That’s right, your skin will be left plump and tacky after application, ready for makeup, with no extra primer needed. But it doesn’t stop there — “you can even mix a droplet of Pink Juice Moisturizer with foundation for extra radiant coverage,” Chang notes. “One special tip we have is to gently pat in a few drops of Pink Juice over the cheekbones and high points of the face after foundation to give a subtle, lit-from-within glow.” Amen to that.

Here’s how to revitalize your foundation with a little watermelon punch:

To Prime:

Apply a few pumps of the Pink Juice Moisturizer all over your face, and then stipple on your foundation with a damp sponge or brush. (You can even use the moisturizer to wet your sponge.)

To Glow:

Mix a pump of your Pink Juice Moisturizer on the back of your hand with your favorite foundation or CC Cream (we love the IT Cosmetics CC Cream for this,) and apply. Next, dab a few drops onto your high points for some extra sheen.
