7 Bridal Makeup Artists Share the Makeup Products They Love

Choosing quality makeup products for normal, everyday lift is hard in itself. (How does one choose one primer or highlighter from approximately a thousand options, all of which have solid reviews across the board?) So, the thought of choosing products for one of the most important days of our lives (AKA our very own wedding day) is seriously overwhelming – and you shouldn’t have to do it alone. To get some more insight into the world of bridal makeup, we reached out to seven bridal MUAs to find out what products they love to use on their clients.

Angie di Battista: Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray

This setting spray keeps shine at bay, prolongs makeup wear and is a secret weapon in my kit for my bridal clients. Through tears and sweat, I know my makeup application will stay intact and if there is no time for touch ups, there is no need to worry!”

Ashlee Glazer: Laura Geller Pout Perfection Lip Liner

“Lips are a major focus on your wedding day. This waterproof liner is super pigmented so you can fill in and define the whole lip and then add your favorite gloss or lipstick. Once it fades from kissing your partner, you will still be left with the stain of the liner.”

Cat Chung: Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Skin Liquid Lighting Highlighter

“This is red carpet-ready skin in a bottle! I mix this gel-cream formula into foundation to give my brides a beautiful radiant complexion to achieve that ‘glow from within’ look. I also like to finish off the high points of the face (cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow, and just above the arches of the brows) with an additional application of the highlighter for a touch more luminosity. It’s a waterproof formula, so perfect for a lasting through a full day of tears, hugs, kisses and dancing!”

Julia Salvia: IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+

This product is awesome for brides and bridal parties that would like little makeup but still want the coverage.”

Melissa Sassine: Flawless Finish Foundation by Melissa Sassine Cosmetics

“This water based foundation with an adjustable buildable coverage is suited to all skin types (including sensitive skin). Brides love this foundation as it doesn’t feel like they have a lot of makeup on their skin, even if they opt for a full coverage look.”

Amanda Shakleton: Rosebud Salve “A staple in my kit! I use it five different ways:  1. A touch under eyes for moisture and to blend out concealer. 2. In the brows for lustre and to control unruly brows. 3. To moisturize lips. 4. Under the brow bone to add a beautiful sheen. 5. On the apples of the cheeks for a dewy glow.”

Kimara Ahnert: Artis Brushes

“I can’t live without Artis brushes to blend concealer and foundation. Oval 3 Brush to blend eye concealer from the inner corner past the outer corner of the lash line makes under eye discoloration and shadows disappear. Oval 7 perfectly blends any foundation, primer or sheer tint evenly over entire face. Your skin looks flawless and airbrushed. The Artis Palm Mini Brush (available in April) is perfectly designed to apply contour powders to cheek and jawline, highlighters to the top of cheeks.”
