I Recreated a Top-Performing Galaxy Halloween Look From Pinterest — And I’m Never Taking It Off

Pinterest is one of those online destinations that’s easy to get lost in, especially around Halloween time. Now that we have the ultimate excuse to break out the boldest colors in our makeup stash, our blood-red lippies and our longest falsies, it’s time to take to the web for inspo — if you haven’t already. Pinterest is an obvious choice, since it was ultimately created to inspire you in all sorts of ways. For us, that’s makeup and we have a feed full of beauty inspiration to prove it.

Pinterest recently unveiled their 2018 PinFrights Report, which reveals the top trending Halloween ideas to recreate this season. For makeup, there are six looks that rank in the top, a few being spiderweb eyeliner, Halloween stiletto nails and our favorite, this celestial makeup look that’s seemingly impossible to look away from.

To find out how to recreate the top-performing makeup looks IRL, we were invited to the Pinterest office in NYC for a Halloween workshop with makeup artist Kasey Spickard. We each got our own station, complete with all of the drugstore makeup products we needed to get the look (you probably own a good bunch of ‘em already). Kasey gave us step-by-step instructions as he applied makeup on a model while we replicated the look on our own. In total, the whole look took about thirty minutes and is relatively easy if you carefully follow the step-by-step instructions.

Find out how to get the look at home this Halloween:

STEP 1: Create a base for color by using a white face paint. Using your finger, blend the white paint into any spots on your face in which you want to apply blue and pink color. We applied it to our nose, cheeks, brow bone and above our eyebrows.

STEP 2: Using a blue shadow and liner stick of your choice (we used this one) add color onto your face and blend with your finger. Repeat the same process with a red stick, being sure not to go over the blue makeup you’ve already applied.

STEP 3: Take a makeup brush and a pink shade of blush and go over over the red makeup you’ve already applied to enhance the color.

STEP 4: Apply Maybelline MasterChrome Rose Gold Highlighter on your cheekbones, nose, chin and anywhere else you’d like to glow.

STEP 5: Create stars on your face using an eyeliner brush and white face paint. Start by just drawing on an interconnected horizontal line and vertical line and then draw a circle within the lines. If you make any mistakes, perfect with a Q-tip. Add some white dots, too, and then connect all of your stars with tiny dots that resemble a line.

STEP 6: Using a black liquid liner, line your upper lid. For our bottom liner, we dipped a clean eyeliner brush into Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color in Wicked Berry and carefully applied it below our waterline.

STEP 7: Apply a coat of Maybelline Falsies Mascara and apply falsies to really enhance the look.

STEP 8: Finish by applying a light or dark lippie (depending on what you’re feeling). Top with Maybelline Electric Shine Prismatic Lip Gloss for holographic shine.
