Now that the holidays are officially upon us, it’s time to start thinking about the unique gifts we’re going to surprise our friends and family with this season. But before we do that, it’s time to decide on the mani (or manis) we want to debut this season.

Depending on your personality or your carefully selected outfits, there’s a good chance you’re searching for the nail look to pair perfectly with both. To help you determine which one to DIY this season, we’ve rounded up five video tutorials to inspire your at-home manicure. See them all, ahead.

If you love elegant nail designs...

1. Hydrate with Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil.
2. Prep nails with an Essie base coat.
3. Layer two coats of Licorice and let dry.
4. Using a striping brush dipped in Good as Gold, draw a horizontal line across the “moon” as a guideline. Fill in the rest of the nail to the tip and let dry.
5. Dip the dotting tool in Licorice and create a horizontal line of dots on Good As Gold. Let dry.
6. Shine and seal with an Essie top coat.

If you’re searching for a festive design...

1. Hydrate with Apricot Cuticle Oil.
2. Clean then prep nails with an Essie base coat.
3. Apply two coats of Shall We Chalet?
4. Create a diagonal shape with Virgin Snow across half the nail.
5. Paint a thin stripe across diagonal with Apres-Chic.
6. Shine and seal with Essie Gel Setter Top Coat.

To complete your NYE look…

1. Hydrate with Apricot Cuticle Oil.
2. Clean then prep nails with an Essie base coat.
3. Apply two coats of your favorite Essie shade, like Bahama Mama (as seen above).
4. For step four, choose the design you want to create using Essie Luxeffects.

For all over sparkle: Top with a full coat of your favorite Luxeffects Top Coat like Summit of Style.

For an ombre tip: For a more subtle sparkle, add a thicker layer of your favorite Luxeffects shade to the tip of your nail and gradually fade out towards your cuticle.

For a side-swept design: For a touch of glitz, add an off center stripe of Luxeffects along one side of each nail.

 For winter wonderland inspired nails...

1. Hydrate with Apricot Cuticle Oil.
2. Clean then prep nails with an Essie base coat.
3. Apply two coats of Virgin Snow.
4. Using a fan brush, swipe Apres-Chic from the tip of the nail down to the middle to create “icicles.”
5. Shine and seal with Essie Gel Setter Top Coat.

 For ribbon-inspired nails…

1. Pro Tip: Take the brush from an old polish, clean it with polish remover and cut away half of the bristles. cutting more away will give you a thinner line to work with.
2. Hydrate with Apricot Cuticle Oil.
3. Clean then prep nails with an Essie base coat.
4. Apply two coats of Sand Tropez. Let it dry.
5. Use the trimmed brush to create a double X with Wicked. Let it dry.
6. Pro Tip: Place dots where you want your lines to end, then connect the dots.
