We’re told that as we enter our 20s, eye creams must become an important part in our everyday skincare routine. Reluctant to recognize the idea of aging — and by idea, we mean that natural and unavoidable part of life — we muster up the courage to start researching the right treatment. But, there’s more to an eye cream than just anti-aging! While preventing wrinkles is everyone’s No. 1 focus, this delicate area likes to give us all sorts of other troubles like puffiness, darkness and dryness. And on some occasions (let’s “randomly” say Sunday morning), ALL of the above!

While crow’s feet may be the sign to a happy life, we’d be even happier hiding (and preventing) them. Look for anti-wrinkle creams that contain retinol to boost collagen and give your eyes an instant lift for a soft and smooth appearance.

Product Recommendations:
Garnier Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream, La Roche-Posay Redermic [R] Eyes

Puffy Eyes

If waking up with bags underneath your eyes is becoming a regular occurrence, then a refreshing treatment is what your peepers really need. Look for a soothing oil to eliminate puffiness or a product with caffeine to instantly decrease swelling.

Product Recommendations:
Giorgio Armani Regenessence [3.R] Eye Rejuvenating Serum, The Body Shops Drops of Youth Eye Concentrate

Dark Circles

Once again, caffeine is our savior! Pure caffeine stimulates poor blood circulation to reduce the appearance of dark circles (and uneven skin tone). We’re not talking about drinking coffee here though — there are plenty of caffeine-infused eye creams that will do the trick. Another option is to look for an eye cream that diffuses light, which will also reduce under-eye pigmentation and wrinkles!

Product Recommendations: L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Miracle Blur Eye, Vichy Proeven Eyes

For some, the main concern is hydration. Dry skin makes it look like you have deeper wrinkles and makes putting on concealer a nightmare, to say the least. An eye treatment infused with a high concentration of natural oils will deliver quick and comfortable moisture that also fights free radicals and aging.

Product Recommendations:
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, YSL Or Rouge Oil

Sun Protection

Those peepers need protecting, too. Since the skin around your eyes is thin, it’s important to use a daily eye cream with UV protection to keep sun damage, dehydration and fine lines away!

Product Recommendations:
SkinCeuticals Physical Eye UV Defense SPF 50, Lancôme Bienfait Multi Vital Eye SPF 28
