Almost all eyes, no matter the skin tone or eye color, can be easily enhanced with a little help from our friends in the neutral eye shadow palette. But when we grow tired of basic browns, we trade them in for camouflage-inspired colors, which range from khaki to olive green. Like camo, these alternative shades blend in, but like neutrals, they still manage to make your eyes pop.

Blue Eyes

To complement blue eyes, we recommend a shade with golden or copper undertones, like Lancôme Paris Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Smooth Hold in Burnt Sand, or gray undertones, like Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Bender and NYX Cosmetics Nude Matte Shadow in Confession.

Green Eyes

Your best bet for green eyes is a rusty khaki — something with a bit of orange in it, like NYX Cosmetics Nude Matte Shadow in Dance the Tides or L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Amber Rush.

Brown Eyes

If you're a brown-eyed girl, you’re in luck. Almost all of these khaki ones will accent your eyes. Try something with a bit more green, like Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Mildew, or a combination of earth tones, like those in Maybelline New York ExpertWear® Eyeshadow 8 Pan in Sunbaked Neutrals.

Hazel Eyes

For hazel eyes, go with a true khaki, and something with a bit more yellow in it, like NYX Cosmetics Slide on Pencil in Golden Olive, or L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Iced Latte.
