If only you could go back in time and tell your 13-year-old self that that face full of freckles you were sporting would one day be a major accessory in the beauty world. Maybe, then, you wouldn't have hated the spots so much! After popping up on multiple runways over the past few seasons, the message is clear: a smattering of cute, fresh-looking freckles is undoubtedly cool.
If you already have these fashionable spots, stop hiding them under heavy makeup. If you're freckle-free, you can still get the look — without skipping the sunscreen (yes, those sweet speckles are a byproduct of sun exposure).
At the Preen Spring 2015 runway show, makeup artist Val Garland sent the models down the catwalk with multi-tonal dots drawn on with a mix of eye pencils and brow markers. (Team MDC recommends Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Whiskey and NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Marker in Medium.) Garland extended the freckled effect from forehead to chin, but you can dip your toe into the trend with just a few scattered across the bridge of your nose.
