Hair How To: Flat Iron the Frizz Away

Humidity is the number one culprit of frizz and fly aways, and with summer fast approaching, it's essential to know the best products and techniques to keep your hair sleek and straight 24/7. Celebrity Hair Stylist, Karmela Lozina of John Sahag Workshop NYC has the top tips to flat iron the frizz away, for good!
Step 1: Suds It
Massage a smoothing shampoo completely through the scalp all the way to the ends of the hair. Finish with an anti-frizz conditioner and leave it on for at least 3 minutes. This will ensure the hair is conditioned properly.
Karmela's Picks: L'Oréal Smooth Intense Polishing Shampoo and Conditioner
Step 2: Dry It
Apply a small amount of straightening cream or serum on wet hair. Blow dry hair fully and brush any tangles out.
Karmela's Picks: Redken Glass 01 Smoothing Serum and L'Oréal Smooth Intense Xtreme Straightening Cream
Step 3: Iron It

Spray on a small amount of a heat protection and flat iron spray.

Finish off by sectioning the hair and straightening from root to ends with the iron.

Expert Tip: Looking for some extra shine? When finished, spray a high gloss spray all over to polish off this style. Hair is instantly transformed and looks super healthy!
Karmela's Picks: Garnier Fructis Style Sleek and Shine Flat Iron Perfector Straightening Mist (used here), and Kérastase Chroma Cristal
Beauty Talk

To complement these sleek strands, I chose to add a little bit of drama with a smoky eye, fresh skin and a soft lip.
