SOS! You have a special event coming up and noticed your manicure has been a little neglected, to say the least. We’ve all been there — where we let our chips, smudges and random broken nail go untouched for a little too long. And we get it! In the craziness of your everyday life, getting to the nail salon can sometimes become a low priority. But there is nothing worse than when you need a fresh mani, ASAP, and there is no professional manicurist to help.

Luckily, while we were running around during New York Fashion Week, we found the perfect solution for masking a messy manicure in a pinch. At the Veronica Beard Spring/Summer 2020 Show, we went backstage and spoke with Essie Lead Nail Artist, Rita Remark, who created a stunning press-on manicure that will save you in those dire situations. To never worry about a chipped nail ever again, read on for this NYFW-approved way to transform your manicure in minutes.

How to Get the Look

Step 1: To create a nail look that’s ready any time you need one, you’re going to need press-on nails that don’t have any pre-made designs. We recommend trying the KISS Salon Acrylic Natural Nails

Step 2: Create an oval-shape by filing the press-ons to a point and then softening the tips.

Step 3: Apply one coat of the Essie Here To Stay Base Coat to help hold color onto the nails.

Step 4: Next, apply one coat of the Essie Minimalistic, which is a subtle, creamy pink shade.

Step 4: Follow with one coat of the Essie Vanity Fairest to add a little bit of shimmer to your mani.

Step 5: Add a third coat using the Essie Going Steady for an ivory iridescence.

Step 6: Finish off with a layer of Speed.Setter Top Coat to ensure they will dry in under one minute.

We recommend keeping a set or two of these at home (and maybe in your bag, too), to pop on anytime you need a freshly polished mani in a pinch.
