THIS is How to Fix an Uneven Cat Eye
August 07, 2017If you’ve ever held your breath while applying your cat-eye liner just so only to look in the mirror and realize it’s completely uneven, we understand.
And fixing the liner is often even more frustrating — especially if you’re pressed for time and need to head out the door. First and foremost, as they say in dire situations like this, don’t panic. If you know what to do next, not only can you save your liner, you can also avoid this makeup mistake completely.
After you’ve swiped your cat eye into an even shape, grab another Q-Tip and pick up a dot of concealer. Dab the concealer underneath the liner to even out the area. (Chances are the remover also removed concealer, and it may have even left your skin a little pink.)
Next, wait until your uneven liner is completely dry and grab a Q-Tip. Soak one end into a little liquid makeup remover like Lancôme Bi-facile, and slowly glide it along the part of the liner that needs to be evened out. You should be able to drag the Q-Tip across and neatly wipe off the excess liner.
The final step is to go back in with your liner and line over your existing liner, simply enhancing your new, crisp line. We love using Lancôme Monsieur Big Liner or NYX That’s The Point Linerto get the perfect precise edge.
Start by identifying what needs to be fixed: Is one side thicker than the other, or is one too thick? Is your line curving up on one eye but flatter on the other? Pinpointing exactly what’s wrong with your lines will help you fix them faster and on your first attempt — not your fourth.
