It’s no secret — most of us are guilty of taking our sweet time when getting ready in the AM. If you’re anything like us, the snooze button is your closest companion (hello, beauty sleep!). From makeup and hair, to your #ootd, your morning routine could take hours. Yikes! And while we love a perfect blowout, glitter lips and braided updo, there isn’t always time — nor is it always exactly practical for a day at work. For this reason, Team MDC has put together a morning guide to help get your routine down to 20-minute beauty basics.
Prep the Night Before
You’ve heard it before, but preparation is key! Unless you get the night sweats, showering in the PM will drastically cut down your AM routine, especially if it’s time to wash and style those luscious locks. Plus, there’s a proper way to sleep on styled hair so that it will last through the night.
Choose your work ensemble the evening before and hang it in the closet to prevent any outfit dilemmas, because it always seems so much harder to pick out a pair of shoes when you’re in a rush! Do your meal and coffee prepping before bed, too!
Now that it’s morning, it’s time to get dressed, brush your teeth and hair and get that pretty face ready for the day. 15 minutes to go!
2-3 Minutes: Dab an illuminating concealer underneath your eyes like YSL Touche Éclat to cover up any dark circles and brighten up your complexion!
2 Minutes: Take out that lip and cheek stain to add a touch of flush to your pout and the apples of your cheeks. Try YSL Beauty Kiss and Blush in Pink Hedoniste.
2-3 Minutes: Layer your lashes with both a volumizing and lengthening mascara. Just make sure to let lashes dry in between coats!
1 Minute: Since you’re going for a simple yet stunning look, it’s important to really define and sculpt your brows. Finish off your beauty routine by using Maybelline Eyestudio Brow Drama to make brows appear fuller!
Hey, you still have a couple of minutes left! Use this time to add on an extra coat of mascara or blush … or better yet, snooze!
