Think about the various shades of blush you’ve owned during your makeup-wearing years. They’ve probably been a rotation of various shades of pink, right? Rosy pink, bright pink, baby pink, shimmery pink. Maaaybe even a peachy-coral, berry or bronzey blush. How about orange? We know what you’re thinking: “No way, no how!” Although it’s definitely the more uncommon shade in the blush family, we also think it’s the most underrated. Because we’re slightly obsessed with orange right now (if you haven’t noticed), we called on the help of makeup guru Marygene Rose to school us on how to rock this unique shade.
Step 1. For a soft-yet-pigmented look, try a cream or liquid blush like YSL Baby Doll Kiss and Blush in Orange Fougueux. Tap several dots of the formula on the apples of your cheeks and up across your cheekbones.
Step 2. Using either the pads of your fingers or a makeup sponge (we love NYX Flawless Finish Blending Sponge), gently pat and blend the color upward until you get a soft and natural flush.
And you’re done! *Insert orange-you-glad joke* here.
