Katharine McPhee pinned up her signature long locks and channeled her inner flapper (with a fresh, modern appeal) when she walked the red carpet at NBCUniversal's Winter Television Critics Association Tour. The result? A classic, sexy standout style that "anyone can wear regardless of age or facial features," says makeup artist Dana Chasen Thomases. Here is how to make it your own. Step 1: Use a foundation with good coverage to create flawless skin. Try:  Giorgio Armani Designer Shaping Cream Foundation SPF 20. Start the application in the center of your face and work outward to blend seamlessly into your jawline. Step 2: Apply a sheer, warm-toned blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend outward. Try: Maybelline Fit Me Blush in Light Rose if you're fair-skinned or Medium Coral if your skin tone is darker. Step 3: If your skin gets oily, use a pressed powder, such as MAC Blot Powder/Pressed, in a color that matches your foundation. Dust the powder into your T-zone to control shine, but leave your cheeks powder-free to retain a healthy glow. Step 4: To perfect the shape of your brows, fill them in with a brow pencil, like Lancôme Le Crayon Poudre. Choose a shade slightly lighter than the actual color of the brow to create depth. Use the spooly brush on the end of the brow pencil to blend. Step 5: Using Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Duo in Indian Summer, apply the lighter, beige eye shadow from your lashes to your brows to even the skin tone. Then apply the darker shadow color to the creases of your lids and slightly above to create contour. You can also blend the shadow into a sideways "V" shape at the outer edges of your eyelids for more definition. Step 6: Use a black pencil liner, like NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Via Veneto, to draw a thin line on your top lash lines only, following the natural shape of your eyes. Step 7: Apply a generous coat of black mascara, like L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Original Mascara in Black. Work the mascara wand into your lashes in a zigzag motion to create volume. Apply a few individual false lashes for maximum impact. Step 8: Finish the look by lining your lips with a red liner pencil, like YSL Dessin des Levres Lip Liner in 10 True Red. Follow with a red lipstick, like Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color SPF 16 in Classic Red, and perfect by lining lips one last time on top of the lipstick.
