Her radiant glow could be attributed to her recent big baby news. But Kim Kardashian's New Year's makeup kicked that gorgeous luminosity up a notch. "I wanted her face to stand out in a soft way to go well with the hair and dress," explains her makeup man Mario Dedivanovic. "So I went with warm, subtle tones to enhance her already beautiful features and focused most on her eyes. My goal was to achieve raw, softly sexy, modern makeup that looks sort of effortless and not overdone." Mission accomplished. He tells us exactly how you can get the look yourself.
Step 1: Smooth a creamy foundation, like L'Oréal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup, onto your face and neck to erase imperfections. Set with a bit of loose powder on the T-zone to minimize shine and oiliness.
Step 2: Brush your brows. Then blend a couple of eyebrow powder hues together to match your exact shade and gently fill them in, creating a softly defined shape. Brush through them again for a natural look. Try:Urban Decay Brow Box.
Step 3: Brush matte bronzer underneath your cheekbones for a soft contour. Try: Cargo Bronzer in Matte Medium. Then swirl a golden peachy-tan blush, like YSL Blush Radiance in No1, onto your cheeks. Finish by highlighting cheekbones with an allover luminizer, like Urban Decay UrbanGlow Cream Highlight in Sin.
Step 4: Apply a golden shadow all over your lids and a taupe-brownish shadow along the creases of your eyes. Using the same brush without adding more product, smoke out the darker shadow along your lower lashes to keep it soft on the bottom and darker on the top. Line your upper lash lines with black eyeliner and wing the line going upward. Then brush on jet-black mascara to both your top and bottom lashes and apply a half-strip of false lashes to the outer corners of your eyes. (Tip: Cut your favorite full pair in half to create a half-strip.) Curl fringe with a lash curler and brush on one more coat of mascara to blend your natural and false lashes. This technique thickens and lengthens the corner lashes for a feline effect. Try: Khroma Beauty SheBang Eye Transformation Kit, which includes a pair of false lashes, a black eye pencil and six natural-toned shadows, including the two used to create this look.
Step 5: To get the soft and pretty nude lip for which Kim K. is known, define your lip with a neutral liner and finish with a matching gloss. Try: Khroma Beauty Nude Lip Set au Naturel, which has both.
