Being named Miss Golden Globes is quite a big honor, and Francesca Eastwood prepared for it with the fervor of a true Hollywood "It" girl. "Leading up to the Globes, I literally put my hair on a regimen the same way I would for a gym workout!” she explains, turning to L’Oréal Paris’s consulting hairstylist Johnny Lavoy to show her super-blonde strands the TLC they needed to make sure they were healthy and shiny. After whipping her locks into gorgeous, fresh shape, Lavoy was able to create a sexy starlet look of cascading waves that sparkled under the bright lights and flashing bulbs all night long. Here's how to get it for your next big night out.
Step 1: Start by making sure your hair is moisturized and nourished to protect against heat damage and maximize shine. After washing and conditioning hair, apply a deeply hydrating hair mask, like L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm, and rinse out after 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 2: While hair is still damp, apply a light hydrating oil, like L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Multi-Restorative Dry Oil. Then work in a small amount of serum to leave hair shiny and control frizz. Try:L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Smooth Intense Frizz Taming Serum.
Step 3: Using a round brush, dry hair in sections to maximize volume. Once hair is completely dry, create a deep side part. Then take vertical sections of hair and coil them around a half-inch clipless curling iron (this will keep waves smooth and free of clamp marks).
Step 4: Once your head is fully curled, spray your hairbrush with a bit of hair spray and gently brush out the curls so they form sexy, loose waves. Tuck one side of hair behind your ear and secure with a hair accessory, like a chic vintage-inspired jeweled barrette. Finish by lightly spritzing hair spray all over the head to hold your style all night. Try:L'Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Strong Hold.
