Here’s Every Step in a Celebrity Makeup Artist’s Daily Beauty Routine

Makeup artists know all of the best tips, tricks and products to achieve flawless beat. And while watching them create endless tutorials on over-the-top and unique makeup looks, there’s something so intriguing about learning how they do their own makeup on the daily. Ahead, we chatted with Jenna Kristina, Maybelline New York US Brand Ambassador, to learn all about her makeup routine (with product recommendations so you can copy it for yourself, of course). 

On Her Daily Makeup Routine

STEP 1: A Hydrated Base

I always start with very hydrated skin; it’s a perfect canvas for makeup application. Then, I apply Maybelline New York Dream Urban Cover Foundation to even out my skin and warm up the outside of the face with the Soleil Tan De Chanel. 

STEP 2: Eyebrows 

Next I apply my brows — it’s the most important part to me! I love the Maybelline New York Brow Ultra Slim Defining Pencil because the precision tip allows me to easily draw hair-like strokes. It’s also perfect for filling in gaps of missing hair from when I over-pluck. I finish it off with Lancôme Brow Style in Brun. It grabs onto the hairs and helps give the illusion of natural, fluffy brows. 

STEP 3: Eyes

Then I use the Maybelline New York TattooStudio Sharpenable Gel Pencil in Bold Brown to fill in my upper water line; it helps make the lashes look fuller. Then I apply the liner to the outer corner and drag it out a bit to get a perfect flick. I finish the eyes off with Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara (probably 2-3 coats). I prefer a more voluminous lash! 

STEP 4: Concealer

For the face, I apply Maybelline New York Super Stay Full Coverage Concealer under my eyes and to any spots that need added coverage. 

STEP 5: Highlight

To highlight, I apply a wash of the Maybelline New York Master Chrome Jelly Highlighter to the high point of my face. I love how it makes my skin look super glowy! 

STEP 6: Finish With Lips

Lastly I do my lips. Right now, my favorite go-to is the Bare Minerals Lip Liner in Freestyle and the Maybelline SuperStay Ink Crayon in Lead The Way, topped with the Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick in Truffle Tease.

My style is very clean and simple, and definitely glowy! I love a simple cat-eye with a neutral lip. I think of it as classic and cool.
