As the self-proclaimed queen of winged liner, I am not easily impressed. It takes a lot for me to switch liners, and even more for me to adopt one as my holy grail. To make my list, the liner must be: matte black, the tip has to be easy to use (I personally love a good felt tip), the product must come out without too much of a struggle and it has to make thin, clean lines. With that said, most products don’t make the cut.

But there’s one that does. This product crossed my desk while I was still in a very committed relationship with my HG liner, and I wasn’t looking for a new match. One fateful day, I (of course), left my liner in another bag and had no choice but to give it a try. I was reluctant at first, but I couldn’t deny that this liner gave me the best winged line of my life. My wings were thick, dark and nearly perfect — I was obsessed. I’m hesitant to call anything perfect, but It Cosmetics Superhero Liner is damn close.

Here’s why the Superhero Liner shines: The product comes out at the right speed, it’s fairly easy to control and once it dries down it doesn’t move. Something to keep in mind though: It dries really fast and works best for someone who is confident in their winged liner skills — does-a-crossword-in-pen confident. If you use black liner to tightline or create small, little wings, this wouldn’t be my first recommendation; but if you’re into a thicker, bolder wing, this just might become your favorite, too.

At $24, it is pretty affordable and you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck.
