The Best Makeup Tutorials on YouTube

Like most beauty lovers, YouTube makeup tutorials are our total guilty pleasure. In fact, we have YouTube to thank for everything from our obsession with wash day routines to mastering overnight hairstyles. We could spend hours watching these videos while lounging around with pizza and some wine (#guilty). And we've honed most of our makeup skills this way. Considering there are thousands (millions? zillions?) of videos on YouTube, we wanted to take a minute to highlight our favorites. Ahead, we’ve rounded up the best YouTube makeup tutorials to help get you started.

This One-Brand Product Challenge
ThatsHeart puts Maybelline New York to the test by creating a full-face using only the cult-classic drugstore brand. She starts off her tutorial with a full face of the Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation and Fit Me! Loose Finish Powder and completes it with the crowd-favorite Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink.

This Look-Good-In-5 Minutes Tutorial

Allana Davison shows off her quick, five-minute makeup routine for looking more awake in this speedy tutorial that any guru could take notes from. She starts with a pretty simple base of CC cream, concealer and a little powder. Next she applies bronzer, a touch of blush, neutral eyeshadow and a little bit of the Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara. This video is proof that a small amount of makeup can wake up your face if applied correctly.

This Magazine Cover Recreation

We love Alissa Ashley for her out-of-the-box looks and keen sense of beauty terminology, but we especially love this look she created based on Rihanna’s British Vogue Cover. We’re obsessed with the neutral eye, pencil thin brow and bold red lip.

This Beginner Makeup Tutorial for WOC

In this step-by-step beginner makeup tutorial, Lovevinni shows you how to contour deep skin like a pro using the NYX Professional Makeup Conceal and Correct Palette. She also creates a gorgeous yellow shadow look and gives some tips on blending and setting face makeup with a white-cast-free setting powder.

This Glass-Skin Makeup

Dilan Sabah gives us the most natural-looking glass skin finish we think we’ve ever laid our eyes on in this tutorial. She shows off her blending techniques with the Giorgio Armani Beauty Master Corrector and how to get just that right amount of warmth, dew, and glossiness out of your everyday bronzer and highlight combo.
