When we asked you guys about your favorite holiday red lipsticks on Instagram, we thought your picks were so spot-on that we just had to share them with the rest of our readers. And with the winter season in full swing, we thought it would be just as enlightening to ask for your favorite Essie shades reminiscent of the cold. Here’s what you had to say….

It’s no surprise that the witchy, wintry black cherry shade made it onto the list. We, too, love Wicked because of its major cool factor, it’s creamy opaque formula and it’s timelessness.

Because what’s a winter nail polish if it doesn’t bring to mind mulled wine? Bordeaux, aptly named after the beverage, is a delicious red that’s festive enough for the winter season but still neutral enough to go along with any makeup style.

Suit & Tied

By far the coolest winter nude, it’s no surprise that Suit & Tied made the cut, as well. This peachy (but not too brown) polish is perfect if you’re looking to capture that winter minimalist vibe.

If cooler tones are more your style, Chinchilly is the perfect light slate gray to compliment your winter makeup wardrobe. It’s super sleek, extremely opaque and instantly gives any skin tone an extra cool factor.

On Your Mistletoes

Hands down, this is another no-brainer pick for one of the best Essie winter polishes. On Your Mistletoes is a slick blue-green that’s dark and gorgeous for snowflake weather — it’s the ultimate winter wonderland color, we’d say.
