As all you dedicated makeup.com readers have already learned from my countless articles covering beauty sales, I love myself a good deal — I mean, who doesn’t? I know I’m not the only one who follows TrendMood1, checks up on Ulta and Sephora like they’re my friends or makes daily visits to Reddit’s Makeup Addiction. The latter (which there’s a small chance you’ve heard of if you’re obsessed with beauty) is basically a goldmine for crazy-good deals on some of the buzziest makeup products around. A frequent topic in the Reddit’s beauty-sphere? The Marshalls beauty department, a.k.a. a safe-haven for our savings account and a deal-scopers paradise.

Marshalls was a source of my happiness long before I spent an hour and a half of my day digging through the store’s extensive beauty section for a brand-new summer beauty stash in downtown Manhattan. The store’s been my go-to for fashion and random home goods I didn’t know I needed for as long as I can remember, but prior to my investigate experience, it’s not a spot I frequented for beauty. Since Redditors rave about their majestic finds what seems like daily, I dutifully showed up to the Financial District location with a dream and a notepad (my iPhone app, of course) to scope out the shelves for good stuff. Here’s what I found:

Skin Care

L’Oreal Revitalift Firming Face & Neck Cream, $10.99 (regularly $17.99)

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer with SPF 30, $14.99 (regularly $19.99)

What Did I Buy?

Out of all of the amazing products I found at Marshalls, I set a budget of $50 so I couldn’t go overboard or get distracted from the goal: to create a new summer makeup kit. I consider myself a minimalist (though I am willing to try new looks and products to review) so I only opted for essentials that would give me a fresh summer look. My purchases included the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer with SPF 30, Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel, L'Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Sculptor, Stila Sunrise Splendor Dual Lip & Cheek Palette, La Roche Posay Micellar Water and the Pixi by Petra Hello Glow! Kit.

Total: $49.94

The Verdict

If you want to revamp your makeup routine, take a trip to Marshalls, especially if you’re looking to do a complete overhaul for a new season, or to stock up on essentials for the future. Even if you’re persistent on doing all of your shopping at your nearest beauty store, we recommend you drop into Marshalls every now and then. It would be a damn shame to miss out on half-off luxe beauty. How’s that for Reddit bragging rights?
