Here at MDC, we're always on the lookout for top-of-the-line beauty gurus to share advice on hair, makeup and nails. Today, we are thrilled to have nail expert Kait Moshshow us how to get a martini-inspired mani! Take it away Kait!
Spring and summer seasons are all about letting your hair down a bit, right? The days are longer, the weather’s warmer, the clothes are brighter (and shorter). It seems like all signs point to relaxing and having a good time. And, nothing unwinds us like a good cocktail. To show my appreciation for good ol’ happy hour, I created a mani inspired by the classic martini. Bottoms up!
Quick-dry top coat (Option: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat)
Step 1: Start with clean, manicured hands wiped clean with alcohol or acetone.
Step 2: Apply one layer of base coat.
Step 3: Paint on a thin coat of silver polish.
Step 4: Paint on two coats of your lime green polish over the top of the silver layer, leaving a thin, silver crescent shape near the cuticle (as pictured). Allow seven to ten minutes to dry.
Step 5: Using your small nail art brush, paint little squares on the center tips of the nails. This step takes patience and a steady hand. I don't recommend sipping on a latte before this step! Allow five minutes for the red polish to dry.
Step 6: Finish with your favorite quick-dry top coat and a little cuticle oil around the nails!
