We’ve seen many unusual makeup looks land themselves in the “hot” category of Makeup Addiction, one of our all-time favorite Reddit threads. That includes unforgettable eyebrow trends, sunflower cut creases and eye makeup lewks featuring new, buzzy palettes. Even though it sometimes feels like we’ve seen it all, that doesn’t mean we’re not shook when we see something totally out of the ordinary. Enter: a makeup look inspired by none other than a moth by makeup artist Melissa Nieuwoudt, aka melissani_mua on Insta.

To get the look, Melissa used Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade in Ash Brown, Juvia's Place Zulu Palette in Yellow, NYX Professional Makeup Liquid Liner in White and Black, Ardell Beauty Cluster Lashes, NYX Mascara and Cover FX Powder Play Foundation in N25. The look certainly calls for some patience, a steady hand to bring all of those intricate details to life and a keenness for insects.

So if you’re ever in need of eye makeup inspiration, be sure to check out Melissa’s page. This isn’t the first time the makeup artist recreated a look inspired by a buzzy creature (pun intended). Yellow and orange patterned caterpillars, holographic pastel dragonfly wings, roach-inspired makeup looks and more take up her feed. But there are also wearable looks for every type of beauty lover. Don’t believe us? Check out her page — good luck looking away.
