I Have Eczema and These Are 5 of My Favorite Makeup ProductsMarch 13, 2020
I’ve been suffering from eczema for as long as I can remember. It started when I was a child, followed me into my teen years, and now, as a young adult, it’s still chronic. This, mixed with the fact that I have combination skin, makes finding makeup products pretty difficult. I always look for something full coverage to conceal any rough patches and formulas that keep my skin healthy and nourished without too much dewiness.
While it’s important to consult your dermatologist about exactly what kinds of formulas you can wear if you have eczema, I’ve rounded up six that I’ve used and love to point you in the right direction. These products make my dry patches appear much more even — and help me hate my eczema a little less.
I’m a big fan of pretty much any IT Cosmetics complexion product because of their formulas, and when I started using the Bye Bye Foundation Oil-Free Matte, I was happy to see that it suited my combination skin and helped cover up my eczema with little irritation. It’s completely oil-free yet helps hydrate my flakey areas, and has SPF 50+ which is oh so important for any skin type.
Having eczema flare-ups on the face can sometimes mean that my skin ends up looking dull, so a radiant concealer is a must-have. The Born To Glow! formula from NYX Professional Makeup is one of my favorites because it gives me a hydrated, balmy finish without making me look shiny.
For a tinted balm that works on my cheeks and lip, the BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Balm is my go-to. It comes in three pretty shades, is super hydrating to the touch and is extremely buildable.
A hydrating, soft cream eyeshadow is a must-have for dry or flakey skin, and the RMS Cream Eye Polish does the trick. It comes in a myriad of shades and is super easy to swipe on, which I love.
