We all know and love the smoky. That sultry, charcoal shadow look has a way of instantly transforming any girl into a seductive creature of mystery. While we appreciate the classic grayish-black shadow and the va-va-voom effect it has on our eyes, we also feel the need to think outside the smoky eye box from time to time. Our latest eye shadow obsession involves updating the classic smoky eye and adding a little color and pizazz. Check out how makeup guru Diana Shin created a glam glittery smoky eye that will rev up any ensemble!
Step 1. Apply eye primer to the eyelids. Mix Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Deep End and Kush by dabbing a flat shadow brush in both. Dust color on the lids and buff it out so it blends well and reaches just past the crease. Grab a dark green eye shadow (Shin used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Loaded) and apply to the outer corners of the eyes using a fluffy brush.
Step 2. Use the same color mixture used on the lid in Step 1 and apply to the lower lash line. Buff the outer end so it connects to the upper lid, giving the eye a smoky look.
Step 3. Press a black eye shadow into the outer corners of the eyes and onto the lower lashline. Work the black shade toward the middle of the lid so it blends seamlessly. Press green glittery eye powder (like Makeup Forever Star Powder in Celadon) onto the middle and inner corners of the eyelids.
Step 4. Line upper lashline with black liner. Keep the line thin and wing out slightly. Line the lower lash line as well. Create full, lush lashes with a lengthening mascara like L’Oréal Paris Miss Manga Mascara.Would you rock this glittery smoky look? Sound off in the comments below!
