Though it's a tad cliche to talk about a green-themed manicure the week of St. Patty's Day, I'm going to go ahead and do it. Hey, it's either paint your nails green or wear one of those "Kiss Me I'm Irish" shirts, right? This is a much hipper option—in my opinion. Plus, this isn't any ordinary green nail look, it's ombre green. Blogger Jamie Sanders created this look—not in celebration of Saint Patrick, but because after sifting through her collection of 200 nail polishes she realized that she had so many "amazing greens" that she couldn't resist using them to create her ombre look. Here's how she did it. "Rescue Beauty Lounge Recycle and OPI Jade Is The New Black are two of my very favorite colors, so they were both no brainers. But it took me awhile to put together the five hues," says Sanders. She swiped various greens on paper in a slew of combinations until she found a group of five colors that complemented each other fabulously. She then used CND Stickey as her base coat, which "keeps my nails from yellowing and helps the polish hold better," she says, before painting each nail in the following greens. Thumb: Essie Nail Color in Navigate Her Index finger: Essie Nail Color in Greenport (which is similar to Turquoise & Caicos) Middle finger: American Apparel Nail Lacquer in Malibu Green Ring finger: OPI Nail Lacquer in Jade Is the New Black Pinky: Rescue Beauty Lounge Nail Polish in Recycle She finished the look by brushing on a top coat of Seche Vite, which "dries in five minutes or less and keeps my polish looking glossy for days on end," says Sanders.
