If you caught the dazzling array of vibrant looks by makeup artist Aaron de Mey at L'Wren Scott's spring 2011 show, you know that when these two get together, very, very cool things happen. So to whet your appetites for what's next from this power duo, here's a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the photo shoot with Lancôme spokesmodel Daria Werbowy for the brand's upcoming L'Wren Scott holiday makeup collection, which the designer and Aaron created together. (Side note: Don't you just love how Daria manages to look effortlessly cool even when wearing a jaw-dropping L'Wren Scott gown? Unreal.).
I can't divulge too many details about the collection just yet, except to say that it's a gorgeous assortment of lush, velvety shades inspired by L'Wren's sophisticated designs. (Meaning you won't find any hokey red-and-green glitter in her refined take on holiday makeup.) One product that I can show you because you've seen it before: Vernis polish in Le Gris L’Wren (shown below), a slate gray nail color developed for L'Wren fall show last season that will now be available for the first time in stores. The entire holiday makeup range will debut around the middle of this month at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Lancôme boutiques, and on lancome-usa.com. And while October may seem a bit soon to be shopping for winter makeup, keep in mind that these limited-edition products will likely be swept up before the first snowfall.
