L’Oréal International can now add another luxury fashion brand to its extensive makeup portfolio (cue screams from just about every design lover in the world!). The beauty giant announced earlier this week that they officially signed a worldwide long-term agreement with Maison Valentino and will work on development and distribution of fragrances and makeup under the luxe epithet.
"We are thrilled to have been granted the license of Maison Valentino,” says Nicolas Hieronimus, Deputy CEO of L'Oréal. “With its unique combination of prestige and modernity, Valentino definitely will appeal to millennial consumers around the globe and ideally complements our brand portfolio."
Valentino will join YSL Beauty, Giorgio Armani, Viktor & Rolf, Maison Margiela and more in L’Oréal’s Luxe Division, and if the runway beauty is a clue enough, we’re looking forward to a lot of Pat McGrath-esque celestialty with a nod to the brand’s romantic Italian influence.
"We are very excited to start this new venture together with L'Oréal to further develop our beauty business,” says Stefano Sassi, CEO of Valentino. “We believe Valentino has great potential within the category and that with L'Oréal's unparalleled expertise in the sector, we will be able to realize that potential."
We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to see what the line has in store — only catch is we’ll be waiting until 2019. Here’s hoping we feel like a *baby Valentino cherub* upon first swipe.
