These Two *Major* Makeup Artists Just Became Maybelline Brand Ambassadors

Somehow, beauty ambassador partnerships just seem to align in the most magical, unexpected ways. For example, Zendaya’s recent addition to the Lancôme family just makes total sense, in the same way that Kaia Gerber is the perfect fit for YSL Beauty and Duckie Thot for L'Oréal Paris. Maybelline New York just announced today that the brand is bringing on not one, but two, new makeup artists as U.S. brand ambassadors. Both Vincent Oquendo and Jenna Kristina got their start at the makeup counter in their respective hometowns and have since worked their way up to develop a massive list of celebrity clients and work that’s appeared in the industry’s biggest magazines.

“We are extremely excited for Vincent Oquendo and Jenna Kristina to join our family of incredible makeup artists,” said Amy Whang, US Senior Vice President of Marketing for Maybelline New York in a press release. “Vincent is a drugstore beauty authority with an expertise that consistently pushes creative boundaries, while Jenna’s unique talent and captivating personality go beyond the traditional artist.”

Oquendo grew up in Queens and worked at a makeup counter at Saks Fifth Ave, before later joining Pat McGrath’s team. After five years, Oquendo developed a list of celebrity clients like Gigi Hadid, Hailey Baldwin and Sara Sampiano. “I’m extremely excited to join the Maybelline New York family,” says Oquendo. “Growing up I only dreamed of being able to work with an iconic brand like Maybelline in this capacity. When I first got started in the industry as a young Puerto Rican artist, Maybelline was one of the only brands I could afford that included shades of my skin color so I relied on it to fill my kit. Now, years later, I am humbled to be a part of their team.”

Similarly, Kristina started out at a makeup counter in California. Today, she creates effortlessly cool, fresh-faced makeup looks that bring out her clients’ natural beauty. “I could not be more thrilled to be a part of Maybelline New York’s roster of incredible makeup artists,” says Kristina. “Their products have always been a staple in my kit since I got started in the industry.
