There’s truly no hairstyle I love more than a bun—it’s easy, quick and almost anyone can pull it off. It's by far my go-to 'do (sorry, ponytails), so you can imagine how excited I was to see the simple style fancied up by fashion week regular, Luigi Morenu, John Frieda’s Global Creative Consultant. For the Zac Posen show, Morenu was inspired by Japanese architecture and an update on a traditional geisha 'do.
Here’s how to get Morenu’s awesome “punk rock geisha” bun:
Step 1: Work a mousse like John Frieda Luxurious Volume Mousse through hair to add some elasticity to strands while smoothing tight against the head.
Step 2: Pull hair into a high ponytail and and pin bun off to the right side. Control flyaways with L’Oreal Paris Smooth and Shine Serum—it's humidity-resistant and great for the summertime, too.
Step 3: Apply a stiff gel to small sections of extensions. Once dry, snip the end into a point and pin the pieces onto your head at the top of the bun. Voila!
