The fall 2010 haute couture collections took place this past week in Paris, and while many of the shows were scaled down even by ready-to-wear standards—the Dior show (shown above) was in a simple tent behind the Musée Rodin—they still presented the most spectacular, mouth-watering fashion creations imaginable. Equally awe-inspiring was the makeup and hair. Because the beauty at couture isn't about trends but rather, like the clothes, about divinity and artistry, this is when makeup artists really flex their creative muscles. Like the Chanel 2.55 bag, the look was both classic and desirable.
