Which Makeup Artist Did the Most September Covers?

The big, juicy September fashion magazines are the issues of the year, featuring the most major of celebrities on their covers, so it's no surprise that some of the top makeup artists worked overtime on these mega-glossies. This month, three makeup artists share the distinction of doing the most covers: Linda Cantello, Giorgio Armani Beauty's international makeup artist, lent her talent to Vogue and V; Gucci Westman worked her magic for Allure and Harper's Bazaar; and Mary Phillips rocked both Glamour and Shape. It was also a great month for Julia Roberts, Lancôme's global ambassador, who shot three different covers for Elle (one for each of the three words Eat, Pray, Love) and looked absolutely ravishing on all of them. But of course.
Given my slight obsession with winged shadow this fall, it's probably no surprise that my favorite cover makeup of the month is Jennifer Aniston channeling Barbra Streisand on the cover of Harper's Bazaar (shown above). Not only do I love seeing Jennifer in something different that her usual bronzy-natural makeup look, but I also applaud a mainstream American fashion magazine for doing the kind of daring makeup usually seen on more avant-garde covers such as those of V or the European publications.
