Tricks To Fake Wide Awake Eyes

how to fake looking awake

Just because it’s Monday doesn’t mean you have to start your week off with tired looking eyes. How you ask? It’s all about a little something we like to call The Tear Duct Trick… Professional make-up artist Marissa Nemes gave us the scoop on how to rescue bleary eyes by faking a wide-awake look… Here’s how to do it: The Tear Duct Trick#1: Pick the Right Product. Pink highlighter, like Fenty Beauty Killawat Freestyle Highlighter in Fire Crystal is always a great choice in most cases. “Pink universally flatters all skin tones,” Nemes says. “It immediately brightens and re-balances yellow and pink undertones.” Marissa also clued us in on the fact that it’s best to avoid chalky silver highlighters, as these translate into looking blue & pasty. “These actually do the exact opposite of what you want, making your face—especially the tear duct area—appear more drawn and tired-looking,” she says. Think pink and you’ll be good to go! #2: Choose Your Tools. There are many easy-to-apply eye brightening click pens out there, but try to avoid the heavy liquids and creams, especially when working your magic on the tear duct area. Your best bets according to Nemes are powder and cream-to-powder textures. Liquids that dry to a smooth powder finish like Maybelline Instant Age Rewind The Perfector are an excellent choice, while convenient highlighting pencils like Tarte emphasEYES Inner Rim Brightener make quick work of the task at hand and will have your eyes looking pretty as a picture in no time. Now how about that nap? #3: Apply it Right. Last but not least, apply the highlighter to the inner corner of your eye at the tear duct and carefully blend it outward. To really open up your peepers, line your lower, inner waterline with a pale pink or white pencil liner. Do you have a best-kept beauty trick?
