Your eyes may be the windows to your soul so it only makes sense that your brows are the window frames. Like any masterpiece, proper framing is imperative which is why we are going clue you in on how one of our favorite beauty gurus, Michelle Phan, achieves better brows in a snap…
1. Pick your product. For a more natural, groomed look go with a gel such as Anastasia Brow Gel. To define your shape, opt for a pencil such as Maybelline Eye Studio Master Shape Brow Pencil or L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Custom Brow Shaping Pencil. Or if you’re after a softer, more natural fill try powder instead.

Editor’s Pick: Yves Saint Laurent Dessin Des Sourcils Eyebrow Pencil
2. Choose the right color. Michelle Phan advises her viewers to “Pick a brow pencil that is three shades lighter than your hair color. Or if you’re blonde, two shades darker.”
Editor’s Tip: Spoolies can be used beyond the brow—for example, to remove clumps and help separate eyelashes after applying mascara, brush a spoolie through your lashes.
3. Use a spoolie. Regardless of the product you use, it’s important to always use a spoolie. Phan suggests using one because it “will blur the harsh markings—making your brows appear softer and more natural.”

I don’t really shape my brows much. I’ve never gotten them “done” before. So I just pluck a little under the brow bone so it wouldn’t look so messy. I’ve been wanting to try filling them in, but it’s weird. I tried a Nyx brow pencil earlier today and there was a huge difference! I took it off after about 10 minutes because I felt it would’ve been kind of embarrassing to go around like that, when the people I’ve been around for years have never seen me like that before. I’m afraid of their comments lol.
